The puppies have all gone now - all to lovely homes and I have heard from most of them and they are all doing very well. Nearly all have new names:
- Xerxes is now Lachie and lives in Wanganui.
- Spartacus is now Murphy (or Murph) and lives in Wainuiomata.
- Trinity is now Kylo and lives in Upper Hutt.
- Thumper is now Marco and lives in Hawera.
- Flotsam is now Sherry, drew the short straw and lives with us.
- Maximus is still Maximus, or Max to his friends, and lives in Lower Hutt.
- Tiny is now Amber and lives in Upper Hutt.
So there we are. The end of the road for us with these puppies. They were all ready to leave the nest and have settled in nicely with their new families. Some have met cats and the cats have not been impressed initially but they are beginning to come round. Some are living with other dogs and those dogs have all taken to them very easily (with the exception of our lovely Kula who is still making faces at Sherry. However, it is amazing how the puppies learn quickly. Sherry doesn't do anything to Kula except occasionally walk by her or sit near her. She doesn't try and play with her yet. That will come. Poor Shadow and Phoenix on the other hand get totally different treatment. Sherry likes to pounce on Phoenix when she can and she totally monsters her mum who is having more trouble keeping her in line!)(click to enlarge photos)Pups enjoy a last sleep in the sun together (left).
