We have teeth! Not a lot... yet... but they are coming through. The first one who was spotted with teeth definitely showing through was Thumper. Not only that but he is wanting to use them I think. I took him out of the whelping box to say hello to Phoenix. He wasn't too sure about her and kept going round behind my legs. I would put him back in front and then he would be behind again. Then I realised what was there - Shadow's food bowl - and when I let him go, he headed straight for it and started to lick the sides of it and was just about to tuck in when I took him away. Talk about an early developer! (click on photos to enlarge) Thumper's teeth (left). Thumper trying to put his new teeth to good use in Shadow's food bowl (right). Shadow is being given a bit of a rough time with the feeding and so we are doing a bit of shift feeding where she feeds 4 then 3 puppies. I sometimes take Shadow outside the whelping box and select the puppies that are to have a feed if they have missed out. However, that can be really annoying if you are a puppy who has to wait. Trinity decided that she didn't want to wait and would try to become an escape artiste. She succeeded and is the first puppy to climb out of the whelping box. Come on mum, feed us! (left). (you need sound for this) Check News for more stories about the puppies. |
